BIOGRAPHYARTIST - JAH THE ELEMENTGENRE - SALONE/R & BFROM -SALONEJAH, better known as Abdul Rahim Jah, is the product of a single parent household, where he was raised along with three older sisters in Republic of Sierra Leone, by his mother. He spent his days, at a young age, walking barefoot to an elementary school that was five miles from his village. Knowing he was destined for a bigger purpose, Abduls mind was eased and he was inspired to strive for greatness. Music is what provided an outlet for him, and Reggae was the first genre that he was exposed to. He frequently listened to celebrated artists like Bob Marley, Lucy Dube, Buju Banton, Jimm Cliff, Peter Tosh, and Shaba Ranks. In 1994, at the tender age of ten, Abdul received his first chance to sing in front of a group of individuals in his village; this is when JAH was born, and he was determined to live the rest of his life through music. At this time, he began to learn English, as a foreign language, and soon after, fell in love with what is known as R&B. Artists, such as Mary J. Blige, Monica, R. Kelly, K.C. & Jojo, Brandy, and Boys II Men are what his ears welcomed. This is when JAHs dream was catapulted into overdrive. His passion for music became inexorable. His dream was to miraculously migrate to the United States, and his prayers were answered in 2000, at the height of the rebellion in Sierra Leone. This sixteen year old young man soon called Maryland home, and in his third year of high school, learned to control his voice as a member of the school choir. JAH now resides in Atlanta, GA, and his talents include singing, song-writing, and producing. Gods will for his life, is what JAH desires, and knows that music will be strongly impacted by his destiny.
